The Mercantile Library

Delivering accurate modelling and fabrication drawings for a complex architectural centrepiece

We’re delighted to share one of our recent contributions — the feature staircase at The Mercantile Library. Our role covered the structural drawings, 3D modelling, and detailed fabrication information needed to turn this intricate design into reality.

This multi-flight stair, with its clean lines and contemporary form, demanded a high level of coordination between design intent and buildability. To support this, we created a fully detailed 3D model, allowing us to resolve potential clashes early on and ensure all elements would align correctly during fabrication and installation.

We prepared fully dimensioned fabrication drawings covering everything from laser-cut plates and folded stringers to bespoke brackets and connections. Particular care was taken with tolerances and erection sequencing, helping to streamline both workshop production and site assembly.

It’s another great example of how thoughtful detailing and precise modelling play a key role in delivering quality, efficient steelwork — from the workshop floor to final installation.
